JEAN'S DECISION ON LEAVING US, BUT ..............

When I first wrote on here, I was going to leave.  I didn't mean to shock Marilyn, when I told here I was leaving.  I felt that I was boring to you all.  That I didn't have anymore information for you.  But after Marilyn read me all your comments, I rethought.  I have decided to say, I want some time off to rest, get my writing energy back, be able to come with more posts to give you.

I thank you all for your comments.  You are all so very kind.  You have all given me so many things to write about.  We have all been together through all my good times and my not so good times.  We seem like more than friends, like family.  I can't leave my family.

So I have still decided to take some time off, but I plan on coming back. But I don't know how long I will be gone.  While I am gone, Edward would like to put on a post about his coming to our home as a foster child and now a member of our family and religion.  Also, he may be putting on some recipes.

Grandmother Olive still plans on putting canning meat on.  So she will be on when she finds the notes that she had or rewrites them.  They are in the house some place, but got lost during the move.

Maybe when I come back, I will only come once a month or maybe every week - I am still thinking on that.  I thank Elmer and Martha for taking over while I am gone.  It was decided that Martha and I will both be putting the recipes on and maybe Edward, too.

Again, thank you for all your kind comments.  I hope you understand my wanting to leave for a while.  I feel I am leaving you in good hands.

Be With God,
Jean

I am so very glad to read this morning's post. I hope you get all the time you need to rest and think what you would like to share. I'm looking very much forward to Olive, Martha, and Elmer's sharing. I esp. hope I get to read what Edward will share. I am very thankful he found you all, and am looking forward to his recipes as well. What a blessing the Lord brought you together as a family! It is wonderful to come to this blog and read things that are uplifting, and clean with no worries of so much of the negative things we find on the internet. I hope all of you my be blessed.

Putting on a weekly post like Jeans can become a grind I think for both the person telling the story, but also for the person who puts everything together for her post's.

For myself when I had "Amish Stories" I became a victim of that "grind" and walked-away from it, I never looked back and I'm much happier for it! Richard

Good Morning Richard,

It is no 2 minute thing. It takes time for the person to give the post and myself to get it on. I didn't know what I was getting into. But, I do enjoy it, most of the time.

Maybe somewhere down the line I will do as you did, but right now I enjoy it. There are things that get me sometimes.

I am glad for your decision. I know some bloggers write everyday, some more then that - it isn't necessary. Blog when you feel like. Blogging/writing shouldn't be stressful. Lots of bloggers put too much stress on themselves. God Bless.

The first thing I looked at this morning was NYS of Mind to see what Jean wrote. I'm so glad to hear that she's just taking a break. It's interesting to hear that Jean thinks of us as family, because that's how I feel too. Although I never met her, it feels like I know her and her family, and have been very inspired by what she posts.

I look forward to hearing from Edward, Olive, Martha and Elmer. It would be so nice to hear how Kevin and Bridget are doing too.

Enjoy your time off, and know that you would never bore us with anything you write. Everything is very interesting, and thank you for sharing a glimpse into your private life.

Very Sincerely,
Doreen

Thank you ga447. I kind of know what Jean goes through. When I started it was going to be three times a week, but sometimes I expand. I enjoy going out and getting the pictures. I have eaten at Jean's, Martha's and Elmer's. But I also like getting some other things on here, too. Now with finally being on payroll, I have to go to meetings, etc. so I may have to cut down. Jean, Martha, Elmer and myself do have life outside of this blog. I enjoy doing it and as long as the rest are willing, so am I.

Good Morning Doreen,

Jean had another post on here to say good by. She called me up at 11:00 last night and said she wanted to change it. She had been thinking and she didn't want to leave forever. She just needed a rest. So she gave me this post to put on today. I am glad that she did.

Dear Jean, I understand the need for respite-it's a good thing. Your willingness to share your lives with readers is very much a blessing. Whether or not you believe it, yours+your fellow writers posts ARE a blessing, interesting, and make us think. Many blessings to all your family! Serve The Lord with gladness! Carol

Good decision by Jean. It is probably smartest to cut back a bit, and make it easier on all. I really look forward to hearing from Edward.

Hi Vickie,

I think Jean is making a good decision. We will miss her while she is gone. Am waiting to hear from Edward, when he is ready to put his post on.

Marilyn - i haven't been commenting much but i have done marathon readings of this blog. i always enjoy every post, and as a reader above me already said, i never worry that i will find something offensive here. i know that whenever i come here, i will find peace, i will feel close to The Lord, and that i will learn something. i thank Jean for all of her efforts and i hope that she takes the break that she needs and then comes back to us spiritually and physically ready to resume this duty. she has inspired so many of us, and that must feel draining.

i am soooo looking forward to more posts by all of the other authors as there is much wisdom to be learned from Grandmother Olive, much experience to be learned from Martha and Joseph....and although Elmer's posts are always filled with interesting information - i just can't help but love his humour!!!! he is one funny guy, that Elmer.

i would be very interested in Edward sharing his story with us - i think that we would all learn from hearing his story. and i would be very interested in his recipes - he sounds like he is a true and proper chef in the making and i am sure that his family and community, and us, could benefit by supporting his amazing chef-like abilities.

Marilyn - i know how much time and effort you put into maintaining this blog, and i say to you, from all of us, thank you. thank you very much.

your friend,
kymber

Hi Kymber,

Thank you so much for the wonderful compliments. I will see that Jean, Martha and Elmer get them. When this was started I said I wouldn't have anything the whole family couldn't enjoy. I have had to delete a couple of people's comments because I didn't like the way they said something.

You are all most welcome as I enjoy putting on the blog. If I give too much time or get tired, I will let you know.

Enjoy your time off. Maybe you will want to write again at another time or as you said less frequently. I am sure you will find what is best for you. I do enjoy reading your writings. Thank you for all the time and effort you have put forth.

I am so glad that you all continue to write this blog, even with taking needed time off. Please know that you do reach many more people than the ones who comment.
Your stories about your lives have touched me many times and also given all of us a better understanding and appreciation of your faith. Thank you so much.

I agree with what everyone else has said, especially ga447 and Doreen. Everyone needs a break to rest and recharge. Like Jean said, we all have become like family. Jean and Marilyn, no need to apologize for not being Superwoman, not being able to do it all. Blessings, Melissa

Thank you Melissa. I appreciate your compliments and understanding. I will see that Jean gets them, too.

Blessings to you and yours,
