St. Michael's church was established in 1868. The church is across the street from the Catholic School I had in Friday's post. As you can see, St. Michael's is a beautiful church inside. Picture seven is of their beautiful music organ. Picture nine is a picture of the grotto to Our Blessed Mother that is behind the rectory. The last picture is of the rectory. The rectory use to be the convent for the Sisters of Mercy who taught at the Catholic School. In 1963 there was another building for the rectory, but they had to tear it down do to termites. I remember us looking out the school window as they tore the rectory down. When the Sisters left, they turned the convent into the rectory and church office.
Hope everyone has a Blessed and Happy Easter,

Below is the Easter Basket I got from my neighbor just a few minutes ago. I didn't think they would give me one this year as they did last year. I had nothing to give them. Next year, I will be ready. The lady and her Granddaughter came to my door. I was so surprised. They gave me a beautiful handmade pot holder, a baby chick, and goodies.

Good Morning Doreen,
The picture really doesn't do the organ justice.
Happy and Blessed Easter to you and yours,

Happy Easter Marilyn, Pierre & Everyone!
That organ is beautiful! My family's old computer decided to retire unexpectedly on us so I am finally back online with a new one - I have a lot of reading here to catch up on!

Happy Easter Everyone,
People have remarked on the organ. It is a miracle item. It started in another Catholic Church. St. Michael's organ had seen it's day, so they went to electric keyboard. The Pastor had seen the beautiful organ, knew the church was closing and wanted it for his church, but price was more than he or the church could afford. He let the people of his church know, but they couldn't raise enough money, so the Pastor ordered another small organ for St. Michael's. Well, when the delivery came, guess what was on it. It took days to prepare the place to put it and assemble it. There are some wealthy parishoners in that church, not many, but a few and one agreed with the Pastor and bought it for the church. As far as I know, they still don't know who bought the organ as they asked the company not to tell them. But the organ has a great home today in St. Michael's church. It has a fantastic sound too.

Hello Marilyn I wanted to say Happy Easter to you Jean David Elmer and Anna Martha and Joseph Grandma Oliver and all their families!! Happy Easter to everyone on the blog also!! My life is so much richer because of the blog. It has brought me through some tough changes in our life. It always keeps me encouraged learning so much about about the Amish and Mennonites. I pray that our lives can become more simple and I hope Grandmother Oliver will be able to give us some tips. God Bless you all as we celebrate the Savoir and the Resurrection today!!! Veronica
Happy Easter Veronica,
I will see that all of them get your message. It is nice to know that people enjoy what we have on here. Like I said, I think Grandmother Olive will put on another post giving us some tips on a simpler life.
God Bless to you and yours,
Marilyn
