JEAN'S APPLE CRISP

JEAN'S APPLE CRISP

4-5 medium apples
1/4 cup quick cooking oatmeal
1.4 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
1/4 cup margarine

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease the bottom and sides of the square pan.  Remove the cores from the applies.  Slice the apples.  Spread the sliced apples on the bottom of the pan.  Cut the margarine into small pieces and put in a medium-sized bowl.  Add the oatmeal, flour, brown sugar and cinnamon.  Using two knives, cut the margarine into the mixture until it looks like small crumbs.  Sprinkle the mixture over the top of the apples.  Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes.

NOTE: Instead of apples, you could also use different fruits such as cherries, pears, peaches or plums.

Good Morning Folks,

Had a real good rain storm last night. It wasn't bad in our area, but it was in others.

Hope you enjoy Jean's recipe today.

Thank you Jean, looks like a good recipe with a minimum amount of sugar. I'll try it with rhubarb also. Bonnie

Thank you for the messages. I will see that Jean gets them. If any or all of you want to send a picture when you have it baked, I will put them on here.

Sounds delicious and easy to make to me, too.

Hello Ingrid,
I will see that Jean gets your message. I will tell Jean and Anna about pie recipes and whoopie pies.
Whoopie Pies are delicious !!!! I have had them. Whoopie Pies aren't really pies, they are more a little cake.
