JEAN'S CARAMEL - CHOCOLATE APPLES

JEAN'S CARAMEL: - CHOCOLATE APPLES

4 or 5 apples
1 package (14 ounces) caramel candies
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons water
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate

Remove stems and blossom ends from apples.  Make sure apples are completely dry.

Heat caramel candies, semisweet chocolate, salt, and water in top of a double broiler over hot water, stirring frequently until caramels and chocolate are melted and mixture is smooth.  Remove from heat.

Keeping sauce over hot water, place each apple in hot caramel - chocolate sauce, spooning sauce over apple until it is completely coated.  Insert wooden skewer in stem and remove from sauce and place on waxed paper.  Refrigerate until caramel-chocolate coating is firm.

Sounds good, but I'm afraid they would pull the filling out of my teeth! Tom The Backroads Traveller

Good Morning Tom,
Some people love these especially children. I like one twice a year, once at the fair and one this time of year.

Good Morning Folks,
Today is the first of three days I have to go to Wolcott, so I won't be on here all the time.

Found out my heater doesn't work and I need a new motor for it. Won't have the money until I get paid for the three days here plus mileage. If it gets too cold on Friday, a friend of mine's husband will take me and come back to pick me up. I think today and tomorrow, I can drive without the heat. If it's not one thing it is something else. That's life.

I love caramel and chocolate so of course these sound delicious.

At least it's your car heater that doesn't work because at first I thought you meant your apartment furnace was out. But unfortunately you have to pay the bill for your car heater.

Good Morning Doreen,

Glad you like them.

If it was the apartment furnace, the landlord would have to pay for it. Nope, it's the car. She's old a 1997, but I really like that car.

Very simple recipe, Jean. Thanks.
Well, Marilyn, if the car's heater had to conk out, better now than in the throes of winter ;). Good to have a "Plan B" to go to when in a pinch. Seems like you take very good care of your car, but sometimes stuff happens+you just have to deal with it. Like you said, if it's not one thing it's something else! Keeps you on your toes+the "little gray cells active"(the Belgin detective-Poirot). Have a great day! Blessings, Carol

Hi Carol,
Will see that Jean gets your message.

It seems something is going all the time. I need a new cataltic (sp) converter, too. I was saving for that when the heater went. Yes, better now than months from now, when it gets so cold.

Blessing to you and yours,
Marilyn

These sound yummy!

I can sympathize with you, Marilyn. I just recently had to have over $1,500 of repairs/maintenance done to my car! But, at least it's paid for and I don't have monthly payments!

Good Morning Willow's Quiet Corner,

Will give Jean your message.

I agree with you. People have told me to trade it in, but I hate to because that means payments again. The car I got now has been paid for for years. I don't want to start making payments again.
