JEAN'S WIENERS AND SAUERKRAUT
JEAN'S WIENERS AND SAUERKRAUT
1 lb. wieners
5 or more medium potatoes, pared and cut in half lengthwise
1 large can sauerkraut, drained (or fresh)
2 chicken bouillon cubes, dissolved in water or 2 cups chicken stock
Layer wieners in large saucepan or Dutch oven. Add potatoes. Cover all with sauerkraut. Pour chicken stock or bouillon over sauerkraut. Add enough water to just cover potatoes. Bring to boil, reduce heat, cover pot and cook on low heat until potatoes are just tender. Spoon onto serving plates right from pot. Add a pat of butter to steaming potatoes. Serves 5
We just had this for supper tonight and the boys asked me if I had put it on here yet. I don't think I have, so here it is. All enjoyed the dinner with salad and string beans.

Mmmmm, this sounds good! Perfect for these cold evenings! I may have to try it as a vegetarian version . . . veggie dogs and vegetable boullion. Wish I had some right now, as a matter of fact! Thanks for sharing this, Jean!
