LAUNDRY HANGING OUTSIDE - DECEMBER 26 AND 27

I love to see laundry hanging outside.  These were taken in Amish and Old Order Mennonite area on December 26th and December 27th.

When my husband and I were first married, we couldn't afford both a washer and dryer...so I got the washer and used a clothes line. Still remember how wonderful the sheets smelled. That was 30 years ago and sometimes miss hanging clothes. In the early spring, I still take my down comforters and feather pillows outside to get some "sun".

Good Morning Angela,

When I was a little girl, my Mom had a washer but not a dryer and she use to hang our clothes out to dry. I remember the smell of sheets and towels. Wish we could do that today.

I still hang my clothes on the line. I also use racks in the winter. I have a dryer but only use it to fluff up the clothes.
Yesterday it was in the 40's and I hung out the flannel sheets. Dried nicely.

Hi Jodie,

That is wonderful that you can do that. I wish they would put up some lines in the back of the apartments I live in. They won't because they say it detracts from beauty of the area. I don't buy that, but there is nothing I can do.

I would love to put my flannel sheets outside to dry.

Seeing laundry out to dry gives a comforting old-fashioned feeling.

Hi Doreen,

I had never thought of it that way, but you are right.
