JEAN'S UP-SIDE DOWN PIZZA

Every time I see pizza I think of a little boy that was at Joseph and Martha's house.  It was before Joseph became Bishop.  Joseph and Martha sometimes let girl scout and boy scout troops camp on their property during their camping time.  Children come and asked questions about the way we dress, our horse and buggy, farming and alike.   One little boy raised his hand and when Joseph chose him asked, very seriously, if we ate pizza.  The other children started to pick on him after asking what they thought was a silly question.  Joseph told the boy that was a good question.  He was the first person to ask them that questions.  All of the other boys stopped picking on the boy and listened.  Joseph said that they did eat pizza.  Sometimes Martha made pizza at home for dinner.  During planting or harvesting season when all were busy, they called the pizza restaurant. they delivered - and they knew Joseph's address - he didn't have to give it to them.

Also as you like our recipes - we like yours, too.  If we are on a day mission or barn raising or house building with Englishers, Amish and Mennonites, we ladies all bring a dish for dinner.  When we eat something we like, we get the recipe from whoever made it.  Likewise, if someone would like our recipe, we give it to them.  I got this at a house building, and is really enjoyed in our home.

JEAN;S UPSIDE DOWN PIZZA

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can or jar (15 1/2 oz) pizza sauce
1/2  tsp garlic powder or garlic salt
1/4 tsp dried oregano
8 oz mozzarella cheese, grated
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 Tbsp oil
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup flour
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Meanwhile, brown ground beef and onion: pour off fat.  Blend in pizza sauce, garlic powder or garlic salt and oregano.  Put mixture into greased 9x13" pan and sprinkle with mozzarella.  In small bowl mix eggs, milk, oil, salt and flour.  Pour over meat mixture and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.  Bake 20 minutes.  Makes 12 servings.

Good morning, Marilyn. That recipe sounds good to me, too! I think that the pizza question was a great one. It was answered with the spirit of kindness. I think that it's important that when we learn about others, our sameness is more important than our differences.

How generous of Martha and Joseph to let the boy scouts and girl scouts camp on their land, and to take the time an patience to answer their questions.

This recipe sounds fast, easy and delicious.

Good Morning Angela,
Glad you like the recipe. I think it is important to take time to learn about others and them about us - especially children.

Good Morning Doreen,

I agree with you. It is nice that they let the groups camp on their land and to answer their questions.

Bet the kids have a great time camping on Joseph+Martha's property. Not to mention the kindness+learning opportunity the kids experience while there. A mission field to be sure as Joseph+Martha live their lives before the Lord and others.
Recipe sounds quick, easy, and delicious! Thanks Jean for sharing it with us. Blessings, Carol

Hi Folks,
I need your prayers right now. My car just flunked state inspection. It is going to cost over $284.00 to get it fixed. I just put over $200.00 on my credit less than a month ago for repairs on it. Everyone is telling me to trade it in and get a better used car. I don't have the money to do that, but is that what God wants me to do. If I get it repaired and charge it - it will be the limit on my credit card. I am NOT asking for financial donations. I just want God's wisdom.

Thank you,
Marilyn
