LEHIGH VALLEY RAILROAD ROUNDHOUSE ICE HOUSE, MANCHESTER, NY - PART 2

I had no idea what this building was used for the Lehigh Valley Railroad Roundhouse. until I took Porter in there with his wife, Elmer, Bishop Eli and myself.  Porter said the above brick building was the ice house.  After he said that, if you look at the building interior really well, you can see that.  But if Porter hadn't told me, I would never have guessed.

I took 138 pictures the day I took these pictures.  It is hard to cut them down to so few on here.  There seem to be so many I want to put on.  Of course, I weed out the ones that didn't come out very good, but still there are a lot left.

Some of the pictures were of other places that I will post on here later, but most of them are of the Lehigh Valley Railroad.  Real hard job picking them out sometimes.

Usually I don't need two posts, but I did for this one and I have an Old Order Mennonite coming up that I will, too.

Good morning, Marilyn. Old brick is so pretty...Very interesting about the ice house. We forget how much technology has changed in the past 100 years. We are so spoiled. We have refrigerators that make ice for us! No participation necessary. LOL

How nice that Porter knew what the building was used for in its former life. It sure is a big ice house. I can relate to the photo dilemma. Better to have extra since deleting is so easy. Have a great weekend, Marilyn. Hugs for you and Pierre.

Hi dynnamae n,

It was nice that Porter knew what it was used for. It is a big ice house. My feelings too - better to have too many pictures than too few.

Hugs back to you,
Marilyn and Pierre
