NO ROLL PIE CRUST

Neither my Mother, Grandmother, Anna or myself ever made a pie crust without rolling it out, so to find this recipe was a challenge.  Finally, Marilyn turned to the computer and got the recipe.  When she gave it to me, I tried the first one and it was easy to make and delicious.  Then I asked Susan and Katie to make it.  They enjoyed making the crust and in fact had so much fun - they made a couple of more pies.  Men didn't know we changed the pie crust we usually make and said they enjoyed it.  Then we explained what we did.  So this passes at our house and hope it will at yours.  Jean

NO ROLL PIE CRUST

1 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
1 Teaspoon white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 Tablespoons milk

In a 9 inch pie plate, sift flour sugar and salt, make a well in the center and pour in oil and milk.  Mix with fork. then press into the bottom and sides of pie plate.

To bake preheat oven to 450 degrees.  Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Good morning Tom,

As long as it tastes good, men are happy.

I'm saving this recipe for when my little helper wants to make a pie.

Good morning Marilyn, you are so right, my husband loves pies and wouldn't know a rolled crust from a no roll crust. As long as it tastes good, he is a very happy camper! My mother-in-law was the queen of pie making in our family, never measured any ingredients (same with her home made bread), used lard and always said the best crusts were made with lard. Good morning, Marilyn!
I have made this crust before and it is easy and delicious. I much prefer it to rolling out a crust!
Enjoy your day!

Good Morning Cathy.
My Mom was like your Mother-in-law, she never measured anything she made and it all came out delicious. Although my Mom used lard until butter became the thing. Jean agrees that lard always makes the best pie crust.

Good Morning Diann,
Thank you for telling us. Maybe I will try it. I can't make a pie crust with a darn. Everything I makes comes out terrible.

I have always rolled my crust, which were delicious but not beautiful to look at. I am sure going to give this one a try. Thank you!

My Mom made fine rolled crusts+gave me her recipe. Try as I might, I have never had the knack to make a pie crust. This one seems too good to be true, but I'll be trying it for sure. 😊. Thanks Marilyn+Jean! Blessings, Carol
