ELMER IS FORGETFUL

After I did the post last week, I said I knew what I wanted my post to be about this week.  Anna told me to write it down.  I told her there was no need as I would remember it.  Well, next week is this week and I can't remember what I was going to do the post about.  My mind is a complete blank.  Anna's not saying a word.  She is working in the kitchen humming the song Jesus Loves Us.

So seeing I can't remember what I was going to do the post on, I have to come up with something.  Palmyra had Canal Town Weekend.  There were a lot of things going on.  They were having two parades, antique cars, people selling crafts and food - and more.  None of that really interested me until someone said that in the fair grounds was a train exhibition.  Bishop Eli and I decided we wanted to see that.

So we got John to drive us to the Palmyra Fair Grounds where we went to see all the trains.  Both our wives told us not to buy anything, we had enough.  But as we left, I heard Emma say that went in one ear and out the other.

We walked through and saw all the trains.  If you are not a train person, you would not appreciate it.  But, if you are like us, we had to see every train, talk with every owner, and tell them about ours.  We spent most of the afternoon in there looking around.  It surprised both of us that we didn't buy anything.

Our only regret is that we wish Porter had been there.  He would have really enjoyed it like we did.  After we got done, we came back home.  The ladies were looking for the bags or boxes, but there weren't any this time.  We shocked them both.

Also, this last weekend, we had rain.  It is a gift from God.  The grass is turning green.  I don't know if it will help what crops are left.  Still we appreciate all that God sends to us.

My mind is giving.  There is something else I wanted to add here, and I can't remember what it is.  It was just on my mind and off it went.  Anna says it is old age.

It hardly seems that summer is coming to an end and fall will be here this week.  Summer went by so fast this year.  Hope all the beautiful leaves turn color this year.  Last year they didn't do too well in our area.

Well, I still can't remember what I was going to say, so I end the post now.  If I think of it, Marilyn says to call and she will put it on.

Trust God's Wisdom,
Elmer

I also am a member of the forgetful club - seems as if I have to write things down to remember. So glad you had an enjoyable day at the train show and good for you for not buying anything!
I like the new look, Marilyn.

About a year ago I read a saying on Facebook that said:

-The biggest lie I tell myself is "I don't have to write it down, I'll remember it."-

That is so true.

Have a nice day. Glad you got rain.

Hi Folks,
Will see that Elmer gets your messages. I think all our memories are going a bit.

Glad you like the new blog. I will have to see if I can get Pierre back on here. I don't know how I got the blog to look like this and there has to be a way to add Pierre.

Hi Marilyn, Site looks nice, even though you don't know how it happened-LOL!
Hi Elmer, Making lists are not a bad thing at all. Being forgetful or not, lists are very helpful in many ways.
Glad you and Bishop Eli had a good time seeing all the trains! I know my husband would have liked to see them, too. He's always been big into making model planes, dioramas, and setting up working train layouts. I'm sure the 3 of you would have much to talk about if you were together. 😊. Many blessings to all, Carol

Hi Carol,
It is kind of nice. I just wanted to change the picture at the top and I ended up with this. Haven't figured out how I did it.

Will see that Elmer gets your message.

Blessings to you and yours,
Marilyn
