CORNING MUSEUM OF GLASS - PART 1
Corning Museum of Glass has a boat on the Erie Canal. It stops at certain ports, Palmyra, was one of them to show how glass is made. I went to see the boat and it was very interesting. This will take two posts. This is post 1. Tomorrow will be post 2.
First shows the tent that we had to register at. I had registered in advance, so I had to do was pick up my ticket. The price was free.
Second picture shows the equipment they will need to make the item. Three shows one of the people that will work in making the glass figurine. Picture 4, 5, and 6 show items items made on the boat. Seven shows more people that will be working the glass works. Eight shows the screen that shows to the people in the back. I was lucky - I got a front row seat. No problems seeing from there. Nine shows them starting to begin making our glass figurine. Ten shows where they can picture the color they use in the glass. The rest of the pictures show the making of the figurine. You have to see tomorrow's post to see what they made.

...beautiful and interesting!
Thanks Marilyn - such an interesting process. I've seen demonstrations like this at local festivals. The glass colors are beautiful.

I'm mostly impressed with their heat proof glass.
A creative way of getting their work out to those beyond the bounds of their museum.
Hi MarkD60,
Glass is made with heat. It is very interesting.

Hi William,
It sure is. It was in the 90's that day so not everyone that was suppose to show up did. They don't know what they missed.
