Pretty! Nice to look at these pics next winter as a reminder of summer days. Have you tried the macro program for close ups? I love doing those.

Macro is a setting on your camera for super close-ups. There are usually - at least on my inexpensive but perfect for me Canon camera- three settings for distance. The camera - while using Program, not automatic - will always default to regular distance but there is also macro and a far distance setting. The main thing I got from my course was to study the manual. I ordered it online as the little manual that comes with the camera. It really helped me understand my camera. What kind of camera is yours? I love using macro (close up) for flowers and butterflies.

I meant to say the little manual that comes with the camera is often just very basic. Google your camera name and series and see if there's an online full manual. I was able to order mine in print as a book as that's a better way for me to learn. Sorry to be so wordy!

Hi Mary,
I have the full manual to mine. It came with my camera. Funny you should say that because the man teaching at the club told me to read the manual, too. I guess I did when I got the camera, but Randy was alive and he would adjust it for me. But Randy's gone. I do have a thing on the camera that I use to bring things in closer, but I think there are more things on the camera than that. You aren't wordy, appreciate the help.

Hi Diann,
Glad you like the pictures. You just gave me an idea. Maybe I should take some pictures now and save them for the winter.
